Send the page address, the sentence or calculation in question, and a source or reproducible observation to contact@practicalatlas.net. Reports are evaluated on evidence, not on tone or affiliation.
What gets recorded
Typos and formatting fixes may be made silently. A change that alters a fact, a figure, a recommendation, or a cited source is rechecked against its sources, the page receives a new visible review date, and the change is listed in the log below.
A useful correction report
- The page address.
- The specific sentence or calculation input.
- What you expected and what happened.
- A public source, or a reproduction with private details removed.
Calculators
If a calculator gives a result you believe is wrong, send the inputs you used and the result you expected. Every calculator has worked examples that run as automated tests before each release, so a confirmed error becomes a new test case as well as a fix.
Do not include passwords, account numbers, customer records, or a complete utility bill.
Corrections and revisions log
- October 18, 2026. The site’s scope was narrowed to household money, home, and safety. The Photography and AI Workflows sections and the GPA, final-grade, BMI, calorie, and sleep calculators and their guides were retired; their addresses redirect to the nearest remaining page. Ten short early explainers on displays, storage, and Wi-Fi were withdrawn from search indexes until they are expanded.
- September 29, 2026. Five calculator pages linked to National Institute of Standards and Technology pages that no longer existed. Each link was replaced with a NIST page that was opened and read.
- September 23, 2026. Five calculator guides cited pages that no longer existed: two Department of Energy Energy Saver pages, a Department of Energy home energy assessment page, an FTC EnergyGuide rule page, and a NIST units page. Each was replaced with a page that was opened and read. Two statements were removed because the cited source did not make them: one about rounding employees’ clock punches, which the Department of Labor fact sheet cited does not address, and one about refrigerators kept in garages, which the ENERGY STAR page cited does not address.
