Is sales tax calculated before or after a discount?

Rules vary by jurisdiction and promotion type. This calculator applies tax after the discount; check the receipt or local rule when a coupon is treated differently.

Can I add two discounts together?

Sequential discounts compound rather than simply add. A 20% discount followed by 10% off leaves 72% of the original price, which is a 28% total reduction.
